Of Place And Space

CLIENT A

Client A just recieved her Doctorate of Verterinary Medicine and was hired on staff at Burnham Park Animal Hospital. When she made the move to Chicago, she knew she wanted to live within walking distance to her work. Luckily, this house is only a 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute drive away. Her only other requirement was that she would be close to a city park, and Grant Park is only a mile away, with smaller public areas closer as another option as well.

This client previously shared an apartment with three other people while in undergrad, so she isn’t bothered by having a small room. She did, however, express her need for her own seperate washer and dryer, as her work clothes need a quick turnaround time. With this client’s long hours and late nights at work in mind, she chose the room closest to the door as to not disturb her roommate when she leaves.

CLIENT B

Client B is native to Chicago and works as a teacher at South Loop Elementary School. The reason for her intercity move was because she didn’t enjoy her previously long commute to work. This house that she chose is only 8 minutes by car, a dramatic difference from the other 20 to 30 minute drive from her old apartment.

This client loves natural light and a good view, which made this location alongside the river perfect for her. Client B’s tall windows in her room, as well as on the other two floors, were finished with privacy glass so she and her roommate can enjoy beautiful, glare-free, sunlight with the comfort of knowing their windows are opaque from the exterior.
